Like-A-Grandma. Grandmothers are special. They give tight hugs, listen to you, and love you unconditionally. Mostly, grandmothers relish in whisking up their favorite dishes for you to enjoy. Dishes from experiences that family and friends expect. I, myself, enjoyed baked apples made by a very special woman in my life who was not my grandma but like my grandma, Miss Ethel. Hence, "Like-A-Grandma." I received so much love from Miss Ethel that in her honor, I have included in my barbecue sauce as the main ingredient, a twist on her baked apples, and cooked them up steamed. But, not any brand of apples is chosen. After being chosen, they then are prepared, steamed just right for the right amount of time, and hidden spices are ultimately added. Then, voila! The perfect steamed apples marinated with my ingredients bring about this one-of-a-kind gourmet barbecue sauce. Enjoy!

What Makes Our Products Great?

What makes our product great is firstly the story behind it. I  had a great upbringing. I was reared by parents, grandparents, and others who showed me love through the good times and the not so good times. That is through the times of plenty and through the times of want. Furthermore, instilled within me is what it means to work honestly, get an education, which I am fortunate to be an alumnus of Mississippi State University, and share willingly. Give unto others something that you yourself would want. Therefore, this is how my barbecue sauce was created. The idea first came about because of love. Love made me to be the person I am today. So, with such experiences of being loved, the sauce has been created from those experiences. Like-A-Grandma is not just barbecue sauce in a bottle. Rather, it is the taste and experiences of love. Genuine love.

What makes us most proud of producing Genuine MS products?

I am a native Mississippian. I was born and reared in Mississippi. There are plenty of other places and states that I have visited. However, no matter what they have to offer, these places and states do not compare to Mississippi. This is home. My biological family is here, and here in Mississippi is where I met my wife, who is also a native of Mississippi. Not to mention our five children who were all reared in Mississippi. Other cities or states do not give me the connection that I have with the wonderful people, the culture, and the hospitality of Mississippi. Consequently, my desire is to first share my Like-A-Grandma Barbecue sauce with those who are closest to me, fellow Mississippians.

Buying Genuine MS products right here in Mississippi is how entrepreneurs such as myself continue to give back to my state. A state that I have resided in and plan to continue to reside in. Sharing my products here is just one small way that I can show my appreciation to support the state of Mississippi and help it thrive by way of making my taxes contribution. Every state needs the aid of its constituents. All products grown, harvested , or created in Mississippi should be incentives to the state. Mississippi needs our tax dollars, and Like-A-Grandma will do its part.

People should seek out and buy Genuine MS products because when someone buys these products, they are strengthening the state of Mississippi. Mississippi can only be great if it’s citizens make it great! There are many parts to making a city or state beautiful. Beauty may come from maintaining the infrastructure of the city. It may come from the safety of our public and private places provided for by those who are responsible for doing so. Bridges and highways staying intact provide safety. Waste management helps to keep a state beautiful. Without the employment and working of these parts, along with so many more, Mississippi could not function. Therefore, products made by Mississippians and sold in Mississippi provide meaningful revenue to the state. Revenue that would come by the sale of our products.
