We are Mississippi's first packaging brewery since prohibition. Lazy Magnolia specializes in making craft beverages that pair with Southern food, Southern climate, and Southern culture. We are best known for our flagship beer, Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale. Our products are distributed throughout the Eastern US, and a growing number of foreign countries, including China and Panama. In 2017, we opened The Porch, our family-friendly, pet-friendly taproom and restaurant. Guests can sample from among 30+ beers, native wines, and innovative craft beverages. Our restaurant features local ingredients, most notably, bread from Serious Bread Bakery in Bay St. Louis.

At Lazy Magnolia we take our role as Ambassadors of the State of Mississippi very seriously. When we started, 15 years ago, Craft Beer was largely unknown in the state, so we had to jump a lot of big hurdles to get our business started, and even more to keep it going. Operational excellence has always been a requirement because our products reflect not only on Lazy Magnolia, but also on Mississippi as a whole. When people try a Southern Pecan for the first time they are blown away by the flavor. When they try it for the 2nd and 3rd times, they are impressed by the consistent quality. We make new fans for Lazy Magnolia, and Mississippi, by making sure our beverages meet the highest quality standards.

What makes us most proud of producing Genuine MS products?

Mississippi is the best kept secret. This state is full of charm, romance, hospitality, and great talent. It would have been much easier to open our brewery anywhere else in the country, but this is our home and we wanted to stay and make it a better place for everyone. Showcasing Mississippi ingredients, products, and talent is how we do that.

Every dollar spent on a product made or grown in Mississippi has a multiplying effect on the economy. When we invest in our own people we grow our economy and make this a better place. When we import products from out of state we send all of that economic activity somewhere else and Mississippi gets nothing--or worse than nothing. I like to tell people that when they drink a beer NOT made in Mississippi, they are literally tossing money down the drain. They gave their hard earned dollar to a multi-national corporation and all they got for it was a trip to the potty.
