At High Hope Farm we raise grass fed beef and lamb naturally without the use of chemical and artificial inputs in our animals or on our land. Good farming starts with the soil, and we believe that rotational and adaptive grazing practices regenerate and replenish the soil. The health, vitality and quality of the soil determines the health, vitality, and quality of the grass, which, in turn, determines the health, vitality and quality of the animal. From our farm fields to your kitchen table we are committed to providing the healthiest and highest quality beef and lamb possible.
What Makes Our Products Great?
High Hope Farm is located in the Mississippi “black prairie” country of western Clay County near the village of Cedar Bluff. Our lush pastures are fertilized by intensive rotational and adaptive grazing of our steers, lambs and chickens along with composted animal manures – without the use of chemical fertilizers or herbicides. We use no steroids, growth hormones, antibiotics or other chemical products and follow the counsel of Wendell Berry: "I dislike the thought that some animal has been made miserable
to feed me. If I am going to eat meat, I want it to be from an animal that has lived a pleasant, uncrowded life outdoors, on bountiful pasture, with good water nearby and trees for shade." Visitors are always welcome for a farm tour, a place for a country picnic, or for a night in our guest house.
What makes us most proud of producing Genuine MS products?
We believe that by raising and finishing our animals on grass, we are raising the safest, healthiest and tastiest meat people can eat. We are proud to be part of a growing local food and farm movement in Mississippi that is better and healthier for the animals, the farmer, the customer and the planet.
How does buying Genuine MS products make a difference here in Mississippi?
While Mississippi is an agricultural state, it exports most of its farm products and imports most of what its people eat. By buying Genuine MS products we all can help reverse that and make our local economies stronger and our local communities more sustainable.
