Dragonfly Hives Apiary

Nestled in Florence, Mississippi, Dragonfly Hives is a family-owned apiary built on a love for honeybees, nature, and the simple joys of beekeeping. What began as a passion has grown into a family adventure dedicated to producing delicious, locally harvested raw honey while helping others discover the incredible importance of honeybees. At Dragonfly Hives, we believe our purpose goes beyond the honey jar. We are passionate about educating our community, supporting local agriculture, protecting our pollinators, and sharing a little sweetness along the way. Every jar of honey represents hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of busy bees! We’re proud to bring a taste of Mississippi straight from our hives to your home.

What Makes Our Products Great?

When Randy was a younger, he would lay in the woods in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and watch a hive of honeybees day after day. He was fascinated by them and had always had a desire to become a beekeeper to learn more. Once our children were grown, and we could devote the needed time to this hobby Dragonfly Hives was created. We were not aware when choosing a name that dragonflies in fact eat honeybees. Since we had already purchased labels, the name stuck, and now we playfully advertise that we teach our dragonflies that bees are friends, not food. 😉 We’re proud to bring a taste of Mississippi straight from our hives to your home.
