Mississippi Commercial Fisheries United, Inc. (MSCFU) is the largest organization of commercial fishermen in Mississippi. Formed by fishermen for fishermen, MSCFU serves to protect the common interests of Mississippi's commercial fishing industry; promote sustainable fisheries through leadership in stewardship; and advocate on behalf of commercial fishermen, fishing businesses and consumers of the resources our industry provides. MSCFU is a registered non-profit corporation with the Mississippi Secretary of State and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)6 tax-exempt entity. Originally established as the Mississippi Gulf Coast Fisherman's Organization, Inc. in 1974; the name was changed in 2015 to accurately reflect the needs of the seafood industry and the commercial fishermen that are at its’ core. Currently, the organization has over 250 active members who are engaged in all aspects of the seafood and commercial fishing industry. Our mission also includes promoting the products our members harvest, process, and provide.
